The Joseph N. Fortier Memorial Scholarship was formed by the Board of Directors on March 26, 1995 following Joe's untimely death while serving as the League's Corresponding Secretary.

These scholarships are awarded annually to graduating seniors who have been accepted to the college of their choice and who have played in the Charlton Little League program for a minimum of two (2) years. Qualified applicants also submit a typed 150-word essay entitled How Charlton Little League Enriched My Life. A scholarship committee consisting of at least four Board Members is formed annually to review all applicants and choose deserving recipients.
